About Karen Hartstein

Karen Hartstein has a passion for giving back to the community and those less fortunate than herself. After graduating from University of Missouri-Columbia, Karen started helping out at the Larry Rice Homeless Shelter in her hometown of St. Louis. This shelter is well-known in the St. Louis area for its continued support for the community and its homeless population. In fact, it's one of the busiest shelters across the entire region. Karen worked directly with the people staying at the shelter to help improve their outcome including taking them to doctor appointments and helping secure medication.

Along with the homeless shelter, Karen Hartstein volunteered for Meals on Wheels, a national charity that provides hot meals and companionship to the elderly who may otherwise not be able to receive it. With 1 in 5 Americans now 60 years or older, there are more senior citizens than ever before. If you're interested in donating your time or money to this cause, visit www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org.

In addition to her commitment to helping others, Karen is also a sports enthusiast with a strong interest in playing and watching tennis. She's merged these two passions, charity work and sports, by leading tennis classes and clinics for children from impoverished areas in St. Louis.
